Don't you just love the web?
I think I've learned more online than in 6+ years of higher education. Here are a few resources I've found invaluable.
Adaptive Path
http://www.adaptivepath.com
These folks wrote the book (literally) on user experience. Frankly, their thinking is a cornerstone
of my approach to interactive. If they had an Atlanta office, I'd commandeer a desk
(hey, that gives me an idea…). Whether you deliver a product
or service, Adaptive Path will provide a wealth of actionable information.
BNET
http://www.bnet.com
BNET is simply a must for business owners and managers. These folks provide deep insight into
critical business issues and strategy in a variety of digestible formats (articles, white papers, video, podcasts).
Subscribe to this site and spend some time thereit's well worth it.
ClickZ
http://www.clickz.com/
Probably the largest resource for interactive marketing info on the web, ClickZ provides up-to-the-minute
news and information, along with insightful commentary, research and the like.
37signals
http://www.37sginals.com/
Simple, useful, excellent tools for business collaboration. Nough said.
useit.com Jakob Nielsen's Website
http://www.useit.com
Say what you will about Dr. Jakob Nielsen (old-school, anti-graphic design, Luddite), his site
has more well-researched, practical knowledge about web use and web users than anything
else online. You and I may disagree with his some of his "best practices," but summarily ignoring Nielsen's theories
and recommendations would be doing your marketand yourselfan injustice.
Orisinal
http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/
Got 5 minutes to kill? Ferry Halim, Californian designer/developer, created a slew of little Flash games
with beautiful graphics and decidedly different game play. Sometimes it's good to stop and
smell the roses. Or at least play with them.
